10GHz Rover (Truck) Rig - AD6A
Here are some pictures of my 10GHz rover rig setup that I installed in/on my huge 1-ton truck. I used a Yaesu FT-898 as the IF, inside the truck. I put a 360 degree precision pot on the azimuth axis of the dish, and had a small 3-digit LED readout of the azimuth in degrees, unfortunately only relative to the direction the truck was heading. I had planned to obtain the truck's heading information from an NMEA serial stream from the truck's GPS, then have a small PIC-based MCU calculate the actual azimuth of the dish using the truck's heading as an offset, but before I could, someone who shall remain nameless wrecked my rig completely by driving the truck into a low-hanging tree.
